Oz Deathmatch Mod for Half-Life

Oz Deathmatch

Oz Deathmatch is a server-side modification for Half-Life that brings new gameplay dynamics and extensive customization options to multiplayer deathmatches. Originally, the mod focused on introducing a grappling hook and enabling server administrators to modify weapon values, including clip sizes, damage output, ammunition pickups, and maximum limits. Over time, Oz Deathmatch evolved to include additional features and gameplay modes, while maintaining its server-side nature, meaning players do not need to download anything to join and play.

One of the most significant additions to Oz Deathmatch is the rune system. Initially launched with a few power-ups, the system has grown to include a variety of runes, such as regeneration, vampire, low gravity, and haste. Players can carry one rune at a time, with the option to discard it if desired. This system adds strategic depth to matches, allowing players to adapt their playstyles based on the available runes.

Oz Deathmatch supports any standard Half-Life deathmatch map, and a Capture the Flag (CTF) mode is currently in development, with plans to include a map pack in the next release.

Key Features

  • Customizable Weapon Values: Server administrators can tweak various weapon attributes, including damage, clip size, and ammo pickups.
  • Rune System: Players can use power-ups such as regeneration, haste, and low gravity to gain strategic advantages during matches.
  • Server-Side Mod: No downloads are required for players to participate, making it easy to join Oz Deathmatch servers.
